Saturday nights racing action at the West Liberty Raceway started off with a makeup feature from a rain shortened program back on June 28th. The iWireless IMCA Late Models ran a 25 lapper which saw Andy Eckrich come from a sixth row start to take the win ahead of a strong running Colby Springsteen. Eckrich then concluded a very successful night of racing by running second to Ray Guss Jr. in the regularly scheduled IMCA Late Model main which topped off the evening which featured 6 main events with the final checkered flag of the night waving at 10:10 pm.
The Performance Concepts continue to feature large car counts and great racing and Saturday night was no exception as Scott Dickey added his name to the list of feature winners in 2014. Dickey held off Kurt Kile and Bruce Hanford in taking the 20 lap main event win.
The Weikert Iron & Metal IMCA Sportmod feature win went to Charlie Weber. The win was not only Weber's first at West Liberty but it was his first ever win in the Sportmod class. Weber scored the win by beating Brayton Carter to the checkers.
Cayden Carter broke David Brandies win streak at the West Liberty Raceway in the IMCA Stock Car Class by scoring the win in the Kile Motorsports IMCA Stock Car class. Brandies ran second ahead of Johnny Spaw.
The US 6 Bodyworks IMCA Sport Compact feature win went to Jordan Walker, the win was Walker's second consecutive win in the 4 cylinder class.
Racing action will continue the next two Saturday nights at the West Liberty Raceway with hot laps at 6:30 and racing to follow at 7 pm. Saturday, August 30th will be season championships at the West Liberty Raceway with kids trick or treat night, kids are encouraged to come in costume and will be on the track, trick or treating during intermission.
