Ihm Makes It 5th Different Wins in 5th Night at Farley
June 17, 2005
* Ihm Makes It 5th Different Winner in 5th Night of Points
* Schulte Continues Roll in Mods.

Week 5 of the Dodge NASCAR Weekly Racing Series got in the books under warm weather and great racing action in all 7 divisions Friday Night on the multi-grooved 1/2 mile track.

Ace Ihm rocketed from his 7th place starting position to take the lead away from early race leaders Bobby Hansen and Mark Curwen. Ihm grabbed the lead on lap 4 and drove to an impressive win in his familiar Number 11 Late Model. A few cautions would bunch the field behind Ihm, but the Keiler, WI native easily pulled away from the field. Current Points leader Gary Webb finished 2nd from the 11th starting position holding off Curt Martin who settled for 3rd, Jeremiah Hurst 4th, and Steve Boley rounds out the top 5.

Mark Schulte has found the right set-up for his NASCAR Modified at Farley. The 21 year old Delhi Native continues to pick-up impressive Modified feature wins. Schulte, who started 10th in the feature had great battle with 11B car of Mike Burbridge throughout the feature giving him his 3rd win this year at the Palace of Speed and 5th of the season overall. Pretty impressive for only being in his 6th year as a driver. Scott Nesteby finished 2nd with Mike Burbridge, Ron Barker, and Jason Schueller rounding out the top 5.

Jeff Reinert shot to the lead in lap 2 of the Pro Stock feature and cruised to pick up his second feature win of the year. Bob Bollon charged up to the second spot from his 12th starting position, Justin Mitchell in 3rd, Levi Benn 4th, and Jeff Valentine 5th.

The Stock Car Division saw Luke Goedert grab the lead early on and went on to win the feature event. Jason Rauen gave chase to Goedert, but settled for 2nd, Jerry Merkes finished 3rd, Ed McIntyre finished 4th, and Kelly Welter finished 5th.

Jacob Seegmiller did a repeat of last week but used the low line to pass race leader Jaime Rice just after lap 2 restart to march on to win the B-Mod feature. Jeremy English finished 2nd with Jed Freiburger 3rd.

Limited stocks saw Kelly Welter take the win. John Flury takes another feature win in the Farley Flyers 10 lap feature. Flury just nips Randy Vandevegle in hotly contested battle finishing 2nd, Jeff Haas, Roger Gaul, and Tom Bertjens rounded out the top 5.

Racing action continues next Friday June 24th sponsored by Dubuque Hose and Hydraulics/ Legends Night with racing action in all 7 divisions. Hot Laps start at 7 PM with racing to follow at 7:30. For more infomation, visit our web site at http://www.simmonspromotionsinc.com/
