Rain Moves in During Features at Farley Speedway
June 24, 2005
Kaiser/Seegmiller/Welter/Barthelmes/Mother Nature Take Checkers at Farley Speedway

Week 6 of the Dodge NASCAR Weekly Racing Series got partly in the books under threatening skies and great racing action in 4 of the 7 divisions Friday Night on Dubuque Hose and Hydraulics/ Legends Night at the Farley Speedway fast 1/2 mile track.

Travis Kaiser picks up his first win ever at the Palace of Speed in the Hobby Stock Division. Kaiser took the lead on lap 1 from his outside front row starting position and drove on flawlessly to take the checkers. Jarris Eastlick finished 2nd holding off Jerry Merkes who settled for 3rd, Ed McIntyre 4th, and current points leader Luke Goedert rounds out the top 5.

Jacob Seegmiller did the "hat trick" by making it three in a row by using the high side to pass race leader Jaime Rice on lap 6 to march on to win the B-Mod feature. Jeremy English finished 2nd with Shawn Thomas Sr 3rd, Jed Freiburger 4th and Jaime Rice finishing 5th.

Limited stocks saw Kelly Welter take back-to-back feature wins. Welter made the pass on lap 5 from Denny Uldenhofen. Jeff Willis finished 2nd with Jaime Neuhaus and Denny Udelhofen rounding out the top 4.

Jena Barthelmes rocketed from her mid-pack starting position in the Farley Flyers 10 lap feature to take the lead away from early race leader Dustin Wilwert. Barthelmes grabbed the lead on lap 3 and drove to an impressive win in the 48J car. A few cautions would bunch the field behind Barthelmes, but the Cedar Rapids, Ia second generation driver easily pulled away from the field. Pole Position driver Dustin Wilwert finished 2nd with hard-charging John Flury settled for 3rd, Brian Tschiggfrie 4th, and David "little Hunter" Fangman rounds out the top 5.

Mother Nature took the checkers in the Pro Stock, Modified and late Model Features. Just as the late models were lining up for the feature, a down pour hit the Farley Speedway halting racing action for the night. The Modified feature will be made up next week(July 1) & the pro stock & late model features will be made up the following week(July 8).

Racing action continues next Friday July 1st with 40 lap Late Model Special & double Modified Features with racing action in all 7 divisions. Hot Laps start at 7 PM with racing to follow at 7:30. For more infomation, visit our web site at http://www.simmonspromotionsinc.com/
