NASCAR Late Models Go Topless This Weekend

Farley, Iowa: Topless Late Model racing will return again this season to the Farley Speedway, Grant Co Speedway and Dubuque Speedway this weekend. "It gives you a new appreciation for how busy these drivers are in the cockpit each lap" stated Flagman Randy Mackey, " generally all we can see are the tops of their helmets, but with the roofs removed you get a clear shot of them at work."
Late Model driver Bobby Hansen said "It was different not having a roof over your head". "With the lights from the track, everything is so bright and you don't get that feeling that your driving at night." Having the NASCAR Late Models remove there roofs was a suggestion from several drivers a few seasons ago. " We like to do it for the fans" Stated Late Model veteran Steve Boley, "it gives our cars a different look, and also make them a couple on tenths quicker."
The action will start Friday night May 6th with Hawkeye Boat Sales Topless night at Farley Speedway, hot laps are scheduled for 7:00 PM. Saturday, May 7th the action continues at the Grant Co Raceway with Myers Heating & Cooling night, hot laps at 6:00 PM, the tour will conclude on Sunday, May 8th at the Dubuque Speedway with hot laps scheduled for 6:00 PM.
