Simmons ups the ante for local drivers
FARLEY, Iowa (April 29, 2001) - Simmons
Promotions, in conjunction with East Dubuque Savings Bank and Midwest Cash and
Carry are proud to announce the Two Track Point Fund, benefiting drivers that
compete on Friday evenings at the Farley Speedway and Sunday’s at the Dubuque
Fairgrounds Speedway.
This years Two Track Point fund will award eligible competitors with over
$29,000 in cash prizes. In order for a driver to be eligible for the Two Track
Point Fund, he or she must compete in at least 75% of the races held at both
Dubuque County racetracks. Points earned at each track will then be added
together, with the top ten in each division paid out.
The Late Model and Modified point fund champions will each get $1500 while the
Pro Stocks will be competing for a $1200 top prize and the Bombers $1000.
“We recognize the difference between our two tracks in Dubuque County and have
found a way, along with East Dubuque Savings Bank and Midwest Cash and Carry to
award our drivers who attempt to conquer both,” mentioned Joe Hayes, Simmons
Promotions General Manager.
Hayes was referring to the half-mile dirt that makes up the Farley Speedway and
the steeply banked 3/8’s mile clay track located on the Dubuque County
Fairgrounds.
“The Two Track Point Fund will highlight a competitors versatility and give
fans more ways to compare their favorite drivers,” he went on to add.
Racing action begins Friday April 27th at the Farley Speedway and Sunday April
29th at the Dubuque Speedway. For more information, contact Simmons Promotions
Inc at 563-744-3620 .
