Budweiser Open Late Models Shootouts Set For SPI Tracks May 24-27, 2002
4 Day Swing Offers $101,500 Late Model Prize Money
Keith Simmons and Joe Hayes of Simmons Promotions are proud to announce that the popular Budweiser Open Late Model Shootouts are coming to eastern Iowa for a 4 day swing celebrating the Memorial Day weekend. The Budweiser Open Late Model Shootouts will feature a 50 lap main event each night which will award the winner a whopping $6,000. The large purse will attract top Late Model drivers from all across the Midwest to the SPI race tracks.
The first stop on the Memorial Day swing will take place at the high banked ½ mile Farley Speedway located on the west edge of Farley, Iowa. Friday, May 24th action will take to the track at 6:30 for hot laps with racing to follow at 7 p.m. Saturday night the 25th, the action will shift to the West Liberty Raceway located on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds in West Liberty, Iowa. Hot laps will take the green at 6:30 p.m. with racing slated for 7 p.m. Sunday, May 26th the high banked 3/8 mile Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway will host the Budweiser Open Late Models. Start time will be 6 p.m. hot laps with racing to get underway at 6:30 p.m. The grand finale of the weekend will be held at the Davenport Speedway located on the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Hot laps are slated for 6 p.m. with racing to follow at 6:30 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. The first three race nights will include all regular support divisions; The Davenport Speedway event will include Pro Stocks and Hobby Stocks in addition to the Late Models.
