Aikey Tops NASCAR Late Models At Farley Speedway
Farley, Iowa: The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series provided the fans with a fast paced racing program on Friday night on the high banks of the Farley Speedway. The track was very wide with multi groove racing throughout the entire night of racing.
Jeff Aikey extended his point lead in the NASCAR Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation Late Model division by scoring a hard fought win. Curt Martin led for the first 21 laps before something broke in the front end of his mount sending his car into the turn one wall. The NASCAR Late Models were racing all over the track and the battles for position were nothing short of spectacular. On lap 21 Martin, Gary Webb and Jeff Aikey were three wide for the lead. Following the lap 21 restart Aikey was able to use the extreme high line of the track to get by Webb and score the feature win. Todd Davis ran third on Friday night taking the checkers ahead of Dan Shelliam and Bobby Hansen.
Ron Barker chased down race leader Jason Schueller and took the lead on lap number 9 en route to another NASCAR Quarter Master Modified feature. Barker’s win padded his point lead in the Modified division. Schueller took the checkers in second ahead of Scott Nesteby and Mark Schulte.
Ty Kleiner worked to the front and overtook race leader Jeff Kennedy to secure the lead on lap number 6 of the 15 lap Pro Stock feature. Kleiner went on to take the win over Gary Crawford. Kleiner picked up an additional $100 from Holub Concrete for his efforts. Kennedy crossed the line in third ahead of Bobby Moyer.
Jacob Seegmiller scored the B-Modified feature win on Friday night taking a hard fought win over Mark Massey. Troy Burkhart took third.
Steve Dunkel was able to get out front early and sail on to the NASCAR Hobby Stock feature win. Jerry Merkes was elevated to second following a post race inspection. Jim Turpin took third ahead of Mike Hughes.
Adam Wills drove his Farley Flyer to the feature win on Friday night taking the checkers ahead of Steve Stackis and Joe Zrostlik.
