Bud Shootouts Highlight Busy Labor Day Weekend At SPI Tracks
Farley, Iowa: Officials of SPI, promoters of 4 eastern Iowa dirt tracks have set a very busy Labor Day weekend racing slate. The Bud Open Late Model Shootouts will be back in action on Sunday, August 31st at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway and will follow up with the final appearance of the season at the Davenport Speedway on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. Both events will be headlined by a 50 lap Bud Open Late Model Shootout feature which will award the winner a $6,000 paycheck. The Bud Shootouts have traditionally drawn an outstanding field of dirt Late Model competitors. The Dubuque show on Sunday will get underway at 6 p.m. and will include racing in all support divisions. The Davenport Speedway action will take to the track at 6 p.m. on the big ½ mile with Modifieds running in conjunction with the Late Models.
The Bud Shootouts will be preceded by season championship racing events at the Farley Speedway on Friday, August 29th and the West Liberty Raceway on Saturday, August 30th. The Farley Speedway NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series season championships will get underway at 7 p.m. on Friday night and will include championship races in all six classes plus the two track championship races. Saturday night the West Liberty Raceway will roar into action with hot laps at 6 p.m. on championship night. Both nights the Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation NASCAR Late Models will headline the programs with 35 lap season championship races.
