4 Biggest Days of Racing In September Set At Farley Speedway - Yankee Dirt Track Classic - September 10th thru 13th, 2003
Farley, Iowa 9/1/03 --- The officials of SPI have set the format for the 26th annual running of the Midwest’s biggest racing event. The “Yankee Dirt Track Classic” will delight race fans with four exciting nights of racing action on the high banked ˝ mile dirt track Farley Speedway.
The action will get underway on Wednesday, September 10th with racing action in 4 classes. The headliner of the night will be the NASCAR vs IMCA Late Model challenge race. The Late Models will battle it out in a 30 lap feature. Also in action on Wednesday night will be the Farley Flyers, B-Modifieds and Hobby Stocks. The B-Mods will run their complete show.
Thursday nights program will include the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models. The IMCA Late Models will run a 50 lap feature. The Hobby Stocks and Flyers will run their last chance races and features on Thursday night. In addition the Pro Stocks will take to the track for their heats and consolations.
Friday night the high powered Bud Late Models will get in on the action with qualifying, heats and consolations. The Quarter master Modifieds will also get on the speedway for the first time with heats and consolations.
The Saturday night program will culminate the four biggest days of September with last chance races for Pro Stocks and Modifieds. The Hollywood Graphics fast dash will be run in the Bud Late Model division then we will go feature racing with the Pro Stocks, Modifieds, the 25 lap Auto Acres feature for non-qualified Late Models and the 100 lap “Yankee Dirt Track Classic” featuring the Bud late Models will conclude the program.
Each night the action will get underway at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the on track action, the annual “Yankee” charity auction will be held in the Palace Ballroom on Saturday afternoon. 2 charities will be benefactors of this years auction. One charity will be a local charity and the other will be Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction.
The Cobra Lanes in Farley will host the annual “Yankee” 9 pin bowling tournament with two shifts available. Bowlers can bowl either at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.
