Dubuque Speedway Season Opener Falls To RainNASCAR Late Models Will Run Double Features 4/25
Farley, Iowa: The 2004 season opener at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway fell victim to the weather on Sunday night. The infield area was packed with drivers ready to take to the track when persistent light rain picked up in intensity forcing the officials of SPI to cancel the racing program.
Following the rain out announcement the SPI officials decided in an effort to ensure the NASCAR Late Model drivers that every effort possible will be made to accommodate the NASCAR requirement of 18 point races required, thus this Sunday nights racing program will feature “Twin 25’s”, 2 Late Model features will be run. In addition a full program of racing will be held in all other classes. Another related announcement was made regarding weekly racing at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway. With the growing car count in the Farley Flyer (4 Cylinder) division, it was announced, on any night that the car count reaches 30 competitors, 2 features will be run with both giving equal points and a full purse. |
