Bennett Score First Ever Flyer Win At Dubuque Speedway Before Rains Settle In

Dubuque, Iowa: The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series Mid-Season Championships at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds came to an early end Sunday night after light showers refused to go away.

 The Farley Flyer feature was run following the completion of all heats making for a completed program. The Flyers ran their ten lap feature under testy conditions left following an hour rain delay. Manny Bennett topped the 24 car starting field for his first ever feature win. Bennett ran the top side in very smooth fashion holding off hard charger Joe Zrostlik for the win. John Flury crossed the finish line in third ahead of Rusty DeShaw and Becky Roth.

 The B-Modifieds were able to get three laps into their feature before the rains brought the night to an end.

 Sunday, July 4th the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will get underway with completion of the B-Modified feature followed by the make up features for the Hobby Stocks and Pro Stocks. Then a new program will begin which will be highlighted by twin 25 lap features for the Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation NASCAR Late Models. This will be a complete new program with features and qualifying heats all being run in their entirety. The features for the NASCAR Modifieds and NASCAR Late Models that were qualified for on Sunday, June 27th will be made up on Sunday, July 11th .
