Boley Tops Strong Field In NASCAR Late Models At Farley Speedway
Kenny Boyes Scores First Ever Win In B-Modifieds
Farley, Iowa: The weather finally turned in favor of racing as the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series was back in action on the high banks of the Farley Speedway on Friday night. A large group of 118 drivers signed in to take part in Friday nights high speed program.
Steve Boley came away the nights biggest winner by topping an outstanding field of Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation NASCAR Late Model drivers. Boley started the 25 lap main in the 8th position and was able to slip by race leader Josh McGowan on a lap 14 restart. Boley went on to record the win over a strong running Curt Martin. McGowan, Todd Davis and Luke Merfeld completed the top five.
Ron Barker continued his mastery of the Farley high banks by recording another NASCAR Modified feature win. Barker was able to get out front early and then hold off Jason Schueller in taking the victory. Jerry Miles turned in another fine finish in taking third ahead of Sean Rupp and Steve Wetter.
Jim Brokus topped a strong field in the NASCAR Pro Stock division on Friday night. Brokus held off a very determined Jeff Valentine in scoring the win. Ken Martelle took third ahead of Bob Bollon and Jeff Reinert.
Big Ed McIntyre broke a 2 year dry spell with a visit to victory lane following his win in the Hobby Stock feature. McIntyre held off Jerry Merkes and Travis Kaiser in scoring the win.
Kenny Boyes made Chrysler proud on Friday night by winning his first ever A feature by topping a very competitive field of B-Modifieds. Boyes took the checkers ahead of defending champion Mark Massey. Jacob Seegmiller crossed the finish line in third.
Phil Holtz was not going to let a minor thing like losing a rear wheel slow him down in the Farley Flyer main event. Holtz lost his left rear on lap 8 but was able to race on to the win on three wheels over Joe Zrostlik and Jake Blumer.
Friday night June 4th will be Wisconsin night at the races with all residents of the Badger state being admitted to the grandstands absolutely free with proof of residence. Hot laps will get underway at 7 p.m. with the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series in action.
