Aikey Back In Victory Lane At Farley Speedway

Farley, Iowa:  Goodman Insurance Services hosted the NASCAR  Dodge Weekly Racing Series on a beautiful night for stock car racing on Friday night at the Farley Speedway. Another outstanding field of 115 drivers packed the pit area for a great night of racing. It was also Wisconsin night with all of our friends from the great Badger state being admitted free.

 When the checkered flag flew on the 25 lap Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation Late Model feature it was defending track champion, Jeff Aikey making his way to victory lane. Aikey used all of the track in making his way to the front from his fifth row start. Aikey put his number 77 into the lead by overtaking  Bobby Hansen on lap number 10. Aikey went on to score a comfortable win over Hansen. Josh McGowan turned in another top five finish by taking third ahead of Brian Harris and Todd Davis.

 Ron Barker scored yet another feature win on Friday topping a very strong field of NASCAR Modifieds. Barker was able to catch race leader Jason Schueller and use a smooth pass in turn two on lap number 12 to take over the lead for good. Barker went on to record the win over Schueller, Sean Rupp and Josh Vinnedge.

 The hottest Pro Stock driver in Iowa continued his winning streak on Friday night, Bobby Moyer advanced from a sixth row start to take the lead on lap number four and sail on to an easy victory. Moyer took the win over Jim Brokus, Bob Bollon, Levi Benn and Jeff Reinert.

 Jason Rauen has had some back luck recently and his point average put him on the pole of the NASCAR Hobby Stock feature. Rauen made easy work of the 10 lap feature leading flag to flag taking the win over Doug Yates, Ed McIntyre and Larry Benn.

 Mark Massey used some late race heroics to score the ten lap feature win in the B-Modified division. Massey was able to nose ahead of Jeremy English as the leaders completed lap number 8, then a yellow flag setup a two lap dash to the finish. Massey held off English for the win. Jacob Seegmiller crossed the line in third ahead of Joe Huenfeld.

 Jena Barthelemes made her first visit to victory lane of the season in the Farley Flyer division. Barthelemes emerged from a five car pack to take the lead and went on to hold off Tim Koppes for the win. Phil Holtz finished on all four wheels this week and took third ahead of Jake Blumer.

 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing will continue on Friday, June 11^th when it will be Monticello night at the races, all residents of Monticello will be admitted free by showing a proper ID proving residence. Hot laps will take to the high banks at 7 p.m.
