Martin Back In Farley Speedway Victory Lane

Farley, Iowa: Friday night the United States Gypsum Company hosted the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing action at the high banked ˝ mile Farley Speedway. The action was hot and heavy and a very humid night at the track.

Curt Martin has been a regular competitor in the Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation NASCAR Late Model division in 2004 and he has been a constant threat in the first several races but Friday night Martin finally broke through with a win. Martin took the lead early from his second row start and went on to hold off the challenges of Jeff Aikey and Steve Boley. Aikey and Boley have both been in victory lane in 2004 but settled for second and third respectively on Friday night. Josh McGowan crossed the finish line in fourth ahead of Darren Mish.

Ron Barker took the lead from Scott Nesteby on lap number 7 and went on to record his fifth feature win in six nights of racing in 2004 at the Farley Speedway in the NASCAR Modified division. Barker took the checkers well ahead of Scott Nesteby and Jason Schueller.

The Pro Stock feature saw Jim Brokus come all the way from the back to take the win in the 15 lap feature that was run caution free.  Brokus took the impressive win over Jeff Reinert and Jeff Valentine.

Jason Rauen took the lead at the dropping of the green and went on to record the ten lap feature win in the NASCAR Hobby Stock division. Rauen took the win as his engine expired at the finish line. B.J. Schmitt took second ahead of Jerry Merkes.

The B-Modified feature produced a first time winner on Friday night. Leon Wilson scored his first ever win by out racing Ken Boyes and Jacob Seegmiller.

Jake Blumer was back in victory lane in the Farley Flyer division after the ten lap feature. Blumer advanced from the sixth row to take the win over Phil Holtz and Rusty DeShaw.

The “World of Outlaw” Sprint cars will be racing at the Farley Speedway on Wednesday June 16th and the regular NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will be back in action on Friday night June 18th.
