Boley Scores NASCAR Late Model Win On 3M Night At Farley Speedway

Farley, Iowa: NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Racing went on at the Farley Speedway on 3M night at the races despite an inch of rain being received at noon on Friday.  The track held up very well and provided a very wide racing surface all night allowing lots of wheel to wheel racing action.

 The 25 lap Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation NASCAR late Model feature saw Ron Barker hold the lead early before Steve Boley was able to take over the lead on lap number 5. Boley went on to earn his second consecutive feature win a the “Palace of Speed”, the Farley Speedway. Boley topped a strong field of 21 NASCAR Late Models on 3M night. Curt Martin advanced from the sixth row to take second ahead of Barker, who ran third in only his second start in the Ed White owned Late Model. Jeff Tharp and Jeff Aikey rounded out the top five.

 Scott Nesteby took the lead on lap number 4 of the NASCAR Modified feature and appeared to be on his way to his first feature win of the year but it was not to be on Friday night. Nesteby was unable to hold off Ron Barker in the closing laps, Barker took over the lead on the white flag lap and went to record another feature win. Nesteby finished second ahead of Randy Less.

 Jimy Brokus chased down race leader Mike Hughes in the Pro Stock main event and made the pass for the lead on lap number 13 in a feature event that was run caution free. Hughes ran a smooth race in taking second ahead of Bob Bollon.

 The Rauen racing team dominated the NASCAR Hobby Stock feature with Jason Rauen taking the win over teammate Duane Ahmann. Jerry Merkes took third in the ten lap feature.

 In the second week out in his new car, Mark Massey was able to put his B-Modified in victory lane on 3M night at the races. Massey took over the lead from Troy Burkhart and went on to hold off Jeremy English for the win.

 Becky Roth advanced from the sixth row to take the lead on the white flag lap from John Flury and go on to pick up the win. Joe Zrostlik crossed under the checkers in third.

 NASCAR Dodge Weekly racing will continue on Friday, July 23^rd with hot laps at 7 p.m. at the Farley Speedway.
