Aikey Pads Point Lead With Farley NASCAR Late Model Win

Farley, Iowa: Hot Tamales hosted the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing program on Friday night at the Palace of Speed, Farley Speedway.

When the checkered flag flew on the 25 lap NASCAR Late Model feature it was point leader Jeff Aikey making his way to victory lane in his #77 Late Model. Aikey took over the lead after moving around Ty Kleiner on lap number 7. Aikey went on to hold off the constant challenges of Curt Martin in taking the all important win. Ty Kleiner turned in a strong run in taking third ahead of Steve Johnson and Layne Meyer.

Scott Nesteby scored his second feature win in the NASCAR Modified division with back-to-back wins. Nesteby scored the win last Sunday at Dubuque and added the Farley win Friday night to his 2004 accomplishments. Nesteby took the hard fought win over Ron Barker on the smooth slick 1/2 mile dirt track. Steve Wetter ran with the leaders all race long in taking third.

Bobby Moyer got to the front early using the low line around the = mile and went on to score the 15 lap NASCAR Pro Stock feature win. Jimy Brokus crossed the finish line in second ahead of Jeff Reinert.

Big Ed McIntyre scored a popular win in the NASCAR Hobby Stock feature on Friday night. McIntyre won the 10-lap feature over Luke Goedert and Jason Rauen.

Mark Massey added to his point lead in the B-Modified division with another feature win. Massey crossed the stripe ahead of Jacob Seegmiller and Ken Boyes.

Joe Zrostlik made a late race pass of young Brandon Simon and went on to score the feature win in the Farley Flyer division. Simon held on for second ahead of Phil Holtz.

NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing will be held on Thursday, August 19th as the Farley Speedway welcomes NASCAR Nextel Cup Stars, Jeremy Mayfield, Bill Elliott and team owner Ray Evernham to the track for a special night of racing. The Palace Ballroom will be open at 5 p.m. and will host an autograph session. The three celebrities will take part in a match race plus it is likely that Elliott will race in the NASCAR Late Model division.
