Martin Makes Late Race Move To Score NASCAR Late Model Win At Farley Speedway
Farley, Iowa: Friday night August 6th was bike night at the races sponsored by Wilwerts Harley Davidson/Suzuki of Dubuque, Iowa. The racing program featured an action packed night with close racing in all divisions on a very wide Farley Speedway 1/2 mile dirt track.
The NASCAR Late Model feature saw Steve Boley dart to the front early from his fifth row start and go on to set a torrid pace. As the race wound down and lapped traffic came into play the leaders bunched up. Curt Martin reeled in Boley and moved to the inside as Boley was caught in lapped traffic as the field completed lap number 23. Martin was able to lead the final two laps for the win. Martin had started 12th along side Jeff Aikey who was able to finish third ahead of Bobby Hansen and Jeff Tharp rounded out the top five.
Ron Barker was able to move from a sixth row start to take second with only one lap scored in the NASCAR Modified feature. Barker secured the lead on lap number two and went on to score an impressive win over Steve Wetter in the 20-lap feature. Scott Nesteby was able to get to the stripe in third ahead of Josh Vinnedge.
Bobby Moyer and Jim Brokus are locked in a tight battle for the points championship at the Farley Speedway in the NASCAR Pro Stock division. Friday nights feature event saw Moyer take the fifteen-lap feature win by getting to the checkers ahead of Brokus. Moyer raced the bottom side of the track to the win from his 11th position start. Jeff Reinert followed up last weeks feature win with a strong third place run ahead of Jeff Valentine.
Jason Rauen worked to the front quickly and scored the feature win in the NASCAR Hobby Stock main event. Jarvis Eastlick took second ahead of Travis Kaiser.
Track point leader Mark Massey won the B-Modified feature. The ten-lap feature saw Massey record the win over Jacob Seegmiller and Leon Wilson.
Jena Barthelemes made her way to the front quickly and went on to score a comfortable win over Jeff Willis and Becky Roth. NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing action will continue at the Farley Speedway on Friday August 13th with hot laps at 7 p.m.
