Miller Goes Back To Back With Farley Bud Shootout Win

Farley, Iowa: Race fans celebrated the 4^th of July by taking in an action packed night of racing as the Bud Shootout was held on a very fast and wide ½ mile dirt track Farley Speedway. The nights racing action was sponsored by Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation, Hollywood Graphics, Auto Acres Used Parts and T& D Machine.

The Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation 50 featuring the Bud Shootout Late Models ran their  main event in 17 minutes running flag to flag caution free on an extremely fast track. Hollywood Graphics fast dash winner Darren Miller took off from his pole position start and looked to be the man to beat. Steve Boley had other ideas as he took over the top spot on lap number 10 and went on to lead the race for the next 33 laps. The leaders were dicing through lapped traffic when Miller was able to wrestle the lead back on lap number 43. Miller and Boley ran side by side for two laps before Miller was able to move away from Boley. Miller went on to record a five car length win over Boley. Brian Harris ran up front the entire 50 laps and took third on Friday night ahead of Jeff Aikey and Skip Frey. 3 heats, the Auto Acres Used Parts consolation and the Hollywood Graphics fast dash were all run prior to the running of the 50 lap feature that saw 26 drivers take the green flag. The feature win was 2 in a row for the Chadwick, Illinois driver following his win in the Bud Shootout at the Davenport Speedway on Thursday night.

In support division racing, Ron Barker continued his recent hot streak by winning the 20 lap Quarter Master Modified feature. Barker started ninth and quickly got to the front and went on to win the race over Mark Schulte and Jason Schueller.

Gary Crawford won his second Pro Stock feature in a row on Friday night taking the 15 lap win over Jeff Kennedy and Bobby Moyer.

Jacob Seegmiller scored the B-Modified win taking the checkers ahead of Troy Burkhart and Jed Frieberger.

Jerry Merkes led the Hobby Stock feature flag to flag taking the 10 lap feature win over Randy Benn and Steve Dunkel.

Joe Zrostlik scored the 10 lap feature win on the Farley Flyer division. Brian Kammerude took second ahead of Tim Koppes.

The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will return to action on Friday, July 11^th at the Farley Speedway.  Hot laps will take to the high banks at 7 p.m.
