Bud Shootout Set To Return To
Davenport Speedway On Labor Day
The Davenport Speedway will be the
site of the next Budweiser Open Late Model Shootout. The popular Late Model
series will roar to life on the big half mile Davenport Speedway located on the
Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on Labor Day, Monday September 2nd.
The powerful open Late Models will be joined in action by the Modifieds.
Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa
will look to continue his mastery of the Davenport Speedway as he will look to
earn a clean sweep of the Budweiser open Shootouts for the 2002 season at the
Davenport Speedway. Birkhofer will be challenged by the stars of the eastern
Iowa dirt tracks as well as several travelers from around the Midwest. The
headliner of the racing program will be the 50 lap Late Model main event which
will award $6,000 to the winner. The action will take to the track with hot laps
at 6 p.m. and racing to follow.
