Farley Speedway falls to heavy rains races cancelled

FARLEY, Iowa (August 23, 2002) - Officials of Simmons Promotions have cancelled the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series program scheduled for Friday, August 23rd at the Farley Speedway. The Farley area received as much as 9 inches of rain from Wednesday through Friday morning leaving officials with no other choice than to cancel the weekly racing program.

The NASCAR Season Championships will be next up for the Farley Speedway. Greenwoods Grocery of Farley will sponsor the Championship races on Friday, August 30th. The headliner of championship night will be a 35 lap NASCAR Late Model feature race. Racing will be set to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
