2005 Limited Stock Rules and Car Specs
Farley / Dubuque / Grant Co (03-01-05)
BODY: No after market parts anywhere on car other than those specified, No modification other than
specified. Any American made passenger car. No station wagons, cameros, mustangs or firebirds allowed. Frame
must match body. Wheelbase must be stock for make and model. Unibodies must have a 110" minimum wheelbase,
unless approved by officials. Framed cars 108" minimum wheelbase. Minimum 3200 lbs weight limit>
CHASSIS: Car frames must be completely stock, no notching of cross members for fuel pump. Stock
appearing aftermarket steel bodies allowed. Must retain stock floor pan, replacement floor must be steel.
The hood must be in place at all times during the racing event. No holes in hood or trunk. Car must be complete
car at the beginning of the night. No spoilers. No bracing of frame. No X braces. No rub bars. Stock bumpers
must be retained and in stock location. Prefab bumpers allowed, but must be same dimensions as stock and covered.
Can be welded on.
APPEARANCE: Paint all cars neatly and brightly. Numbers must be painted neatly on both sides and on top
of car. Numbering must be done using minimum 24" height with 3" strip width. Must have min 6" tall car number
visible from front of car.
ROLL CAGE: Full 4-post roll cage must be used. Three door bars on left side MANDATORY. Roll bar must be
braced to the frame. Main roll cage, halo, and driver door bars must be at least 1 3/4" outside diameter tubing
with a minimum wall thickness of .095. Vent bar required, 1 1/4"OD Minimum. Flame resistant roll cage padding
required on all bars within reach of driver. Role cage kickers may run through firewall to radiator supports.
ENGINE: Must be stock. OEM blocks, heads, Vortec Allowed, intake, rocker arms, water pump, and distributor.
Aluminum aftermarket pulleys are allowed. Must run GM engines with GM car, Ford with Ford, Ect. Maximum cu inch
engine size: Chevy 360, Ford 361, Chrysler 368. All cars must have an operable starter. No electric fuel pumps.
Ignition must be stock. Engine location: #1 spark plug must be ahead of ball joint. No headers allowed. Cast iron
OEM exhaust manifolds only. Mufflers are required and must meet a max noise level of 98 DBA at 100 feet. Exhaust
must exit beyond driver's compartment, parallel to ground. Air cleaner must be one piece metal top & bottom,
and must set on carburetor. K&N Filter allowed. No roller cams allowed, must be flat tappet hydraulic with
max .480 valve lift. No roller rocker arms, must be stock. No aluminum blocks or heads. Stock OEM cast iron intake
manifold required. No domed pistons, Flat tops or dished pistons only.
CARBURETOR: Stock 2 barrel carburetors only, No Holley's, only GM manufactured carbs on GM, Motorcraft
carbs on Ford, ect. Carburetor bore no larger than 1 3/8". Max 1 ¼" adaptor plate, No tapered plates, No flow
enhancing adaptor allowed.
DRIVE SHAFT: Must be painted WHITE. An approved steel drive shaft safety hoop must be used at a point 6"
behind front universal joint, minimum ¼ x 2" and securely fastened. Drive shaft must be stock type and made of steel.
WEIGHTS: All weights must be painted WHITE with car number on them. They must be securely fastened with
7/16" or larger bolts. NO weights allowed in driver's compartment, attached to rear bumper or fuel cell brackets.
SAFETY, SEAT BELTS, SEATS, HELMETS, AND WINDOW NETS: All seats must be made of aluminum or steel and
approved by Officials. All seats will be required to be mounted to the frame or the roll cage of the car. All cars
will be required to be equipped with a minimum 5-point harness. All belts will be required to be mounted to the
frame of the car or to the roll cage. Helmets should be of full-face shield type and are subject to inspection.
All cars will be required to use a full size window net in the driver's door at all times. Fire resistant
shoes & gloves recommended. Fire resistant suit required.
SUSPENSION: May run welded or locked rear ends. Upper control arms must be stock and equal length on
both sides. May use urethane bushings. No offset holes allowed. Lower control arms must be stock and equal lengths
on both sides and mounted as stock. Stock lower control arm mounting holes are determined as 2 3/4" from bottom of
tube to center of hole for GM and 3 1/4 for ford.
TRANSMISSION: No manual transmissions. Automatic transmissions only. Must have stock torque converter.
Transmission must pass stall test.
FUEL CELL: An approved manufactured fuel cell with a maximum capacity of 22 gallons. Fuel cell will be
required to be encased in a metal container. All fuel cells must be equipped with a rollover valve in the vent
fitting and in the fuel fill. Fuel cells must be required to have pick up location on top of cell. It is highly
recommended that all fuel cells be equipped with foam. Fuel cells must be securely mounted inside of trunk. Firewall
must be between driver & fuel cell. No electric fuel pumps. Pump gas only. No alcohol, nitrous oxide or other
additives allowed.
SHOCKS: One per wheel in original location. No eyelet shocks, Stock mount shocks only. No altering of
suspension other than springs may be changed, with OEM springs; spring rubbers allowed but must be securely
fastened. Rear stock springs must have pigtail.
BRAKES: Operative 4 wheels, all brakes must be of stock origin. No brake adjusting proportioning or shut
off devices allowed. No rear disc brakes, Drum only.
WHEELS: Wheels may be double centered or re enforced with large studs in axle. White spokes allowed.
15x7 max. No aluminum wheels or mag wheels allowed.
TIRES: 235/60/15 Cooper Cobra tire, may be purchased from several approved dealers. All four corners.
RADIOS: No receiving or transmitting devices allowed.
RADIATOR: Only one allowed, and must be in stock position ahead of engine. No coolers of any type allowed
in driver's compartment. Aluminum racing radiators allowed. Fan shroud mandatory, overflow hose must be pointed at
ground. All radiator screens must be behind the bumper line.
MIRRORS: Not allowed.
BATTERIES: Must be securely fastened, one only.
POINTS: Points will be awarded to the driver. We want fans to know who is driving the car... so report any
driver changes to the judges. Remember only individuals with a registration card can drive. NO changing of drivers
once the racing program has started.
EVENT POLICIES: Any member, competitor, or crew member, who assaults or threatens verbally, or physically
to do bodily harm to any track or supervisory official or persons serving under his/her direction: a minimum fine
of $250.00, suspension, and/or loss of championship points. Any member, competitor, or crew member, while
participating in an event, partakes of an alcoholic beverage, stimulant, depressant, tranquilizer or other drug
or is otherwise under the influence of alcohol or drugs: disqualification, a minimum fine of $500.00, and suspension.
