Shootout Rules and Car Specs

Race Format:
Qualifying will be done on a passing points system. The top
20 in total accumulated points from the qualifying heat races will be
qualified for the A feature. The top 6 in total points will have the
opportunity to compete for there feature starting position in a 6 lap fast
dash. The top 6 in total points will be inverted in the fast dash, and will
start the A feature in the way they finished the dash. Drivers that are 21st
on back in total points will be eligible to qualify in a consolation race.
These cars will be lined up according to the total points accumulated from
the heat races. Cars from the consolation races will be lined up behind the
qualified cars according to their finishing position. There will be a total
of 26 cars in the A feature. NO Provisionals. If there is a tie in total
points the driver that accumulated points first will have precedence. Heat
races will be 12 laps, consolation races will be 15 laps. Main events will
be 50 Laps when competing for the standard purse. All event restarts will
be double file restarts. The leader will start on the point, with second
place having their choice of the inside or outside lane. Remainder of the
field will fall in place as they were running. Two-day events will run
time trials on the first day followed by heat races and consolation races.
Heat races will be inverted four (4). Fastest six (6) drivers from time
trials that have transferred from heat races to feature will qualify for the
6 lap dash. Drivers transferring from heat to feature event but not
qualifying for dash will receive feature starting positions by heat race
finish. No Non Qualifiers race. Tow Money: positions 4-8 from each
consolation race will receive $200 tow money. The remainder of the field
will receive $100. A competitor must attempt to qualify in a heat race and
consolation race to receive any tow money.
Rules:
WoO body rules apply. Wheelbase: 103” No tolerance.
Tires: will be the Hoosier spec D-55 LBS stamped WRS.
May be grooved or
siped.
Weight: 2300 lbs with driver after race. 25lbs weight break after 50 laps, 50lbs
weight break after 100 laps.
Engines are open; Cars may be required to add weight at
Officials discretion.
Carburetor: up to a 850 CFM may be used.
No Radios.
Mud Plugs: foam or one piece beadlock / mud plug combination permitted.
Fuel: Gasoline only. No carbon fiber wheels or brake components, No traction
control devises.
Mufflers: Required 98 d.b.a. at 100 feet.
Interpretation of rules by the Officials will be final and
binding.
