Dubuque Speedway Set to Host 1st Annual Rumble By The River
Dubuque, Iowa: The officials of SPI have announced the format for the first Rumble By The River to be held Friday and Saturday, October 1st and 2nd at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway located on the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on the west edge of Dubuque, Iowa.
Six classes of race cars will be in action both nights with the Bud Shootout Late Models headlining the program. Friday nights races will include heats and consolations in the Farley Flyers, B-Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Pro Stocks, Modifieds and Late Models. In addition the Bud late Models will run the Race of Champions which will see two segments of racing. The eligible drivers will run a ten lap segment before stopping on the front chute, at that time crews will be allowed to make any changes to the cars that they can complete in ten minutes. Then a fan will draw an invert number and the drivers will run a second 15 lap segment, the winner of the race will earn $2,000. Drivers eligible for this race include Denny Eckrich, Darren Miller, Dave Eckrich, Darren Mish, Jeff Aikey, Brian Birkhofer, Steve Boley, Kyle Berck and Ray Guss Jr. The remainder of the field will be filled by the drivers who earn the most points in the qualifying program.
Saturday nights program will include last chance races in all divisions plus fast dashes and features with the 100 lap Rumble concluding the program.
Hot laps will take to the track at 6 p.m. each night with racing to follow at 6:30 p.m.
